Lacy Colley Yamaoka has recently pursued her pastime for photography and was able to document our water project in Moyo, Uganda. Working alongside the residents of Moyo and the women of Global Water Women’s Iniatitive, Lacy and her sister were able to witness the construction experience and understand the transformative effects of enabling a community to build and maintain their own rainwater harvesting tanks.
Lacy is looking forward to documenting more stories while traveling and sharing with the world her discoveries. My recent trip to Africa was eye-opening to the numerous factors around clean water and sanitation, and how the utmost important components are empowerment and education within the communities. All of us coming together through our stories and fundraising efforts can one day ensure safe drinking water to those in need on a global level.
Many thanks to Blue Planet Network for allowing me to be a part of their inspirational mission.
